Will a Nintendo DS bought in the USA be able to play Game Boy Advance games bought in the UK?

I'm aware that a Game Boy Advance game has no 'region' and can be played on a Game Boy Advance that is bought anywhere in the world, but I don't know if this universal compatibility transfers over to a Ninendo DS.|||Yes a DS from the USA can play GameBoy Advance games from the UK.
