Help on emigrating to canada, police transfer too.?

Just wondering on where I need to start.

I want to emigrate permantently to Canda with my family.

I am 25 Years old and have been a Police officer in the UK for 2.5yrs. I also have 2 university degrees.

My wife is 31 and although has no qualifications has admin experience and hotel experience.

we also have a 2 month old daughter.

My father is 49 years old and is a qualified HGV class 1 driver.

My mother is 48 years old and is highly qualified in home care and is currently an NHS home manager looking after elderly residents with learning difficulties.

and My Brother is 19 years old and has got various A levels and is currently an industrial pump engineer apprentice.

we are all wanting to permanently emigrate to the ontario region ..ish ideally Thunder Bay, or within 30 minutes of Ottawa or Toronto, country living is what we are looking for.

I am wanting to apply for the canadian Police and for my family to try and aquire jobs in accordance with their skills.

There appears to be sooooo much info on this but I am lost as where to even start regarding citizenship, how to transfer and everything else.

If anyone knows of any good forums or has any info it would greeatly be appreciated.

thanks

ash

My wife is 31 years and doesnt have|||The R.C.M.P. has a very aggressive recruiting program going on now.

That's the best.

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/recruiting-rec鈥?/a>|||you will not be able to apply all together, your parents will have to qualify on their own merits

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp|||I think that you can immigrate with wife and kids, the rest of the family would have to qualify separately.|||you can immigrate with wife and kids the rest of the family will have to qualify separetely|||You, your wife and child would have to apply as a family unit. Your Father and Mother, and your brother, would be another family unit, applying separately.

Your UK Police experience would be helpful. BUT, you can't be employed here as a copper unless you have achieved Permanent Resident status first. In order to get PR status you must apply and be accepted, and that takes a long time, 2 to 3 years, to complete. You would still have to attend the Ontario Police college, and start off as a new PC, with what ever Police service you are hired by in Ontario.

Now for a suggestion........The cities of Calgary and Edmonton, both in the western Province of Alberta., are actively recruiting UK officers, for their cities. They have a special program that offers accelerated hiring of UK officers. Both cities are growing rapidly, and need new officers, with past experience. Here is a link to their recruiting websites.

Both cities are big modern comminities, with all of the services a familiy could want to have.

Look into it.

Note to Lady Luck : In order to join the RCMP a applicant MUST BE A Canadian citizen, not a PR status holder. Sorry.
