I'm in the US. I can't find the DVD for sale for this region (only Australia -- doesn't play on standard US DVD players).|||I am not sure if it is legal and since it is so old it probably won't have a block on it.
do you have a tape to dvd recorder? or know someone who does?|||You can now buy dvd recorders "Walmart" for less than a hundred bucks that work like a charm on converting vhs to dvd. If the video tape has macrovision protection, you're s.o.l.|||Yeah, its legal as long as you don't try to get any monetray benefits from it like copy it to DVD and sell them.
Then its not legal.
But if its for your own personal collection. Its legal.
The Rat|||What is the movie? Have you asked a video store if they can check on it's availability? Stores like Suncoast or Blockbuster have access to sources such as Ingram, a huge media database that list every single piece of media available. It may just be something that is available for special order only. I used to work at Suncoast (a movie store) and that was the case a lot of the time.
Oh and copying a movie from your own collection for your own use IS legal.
