Can Los Angeles Sheriff Deputies Transfer straight Into CHP officers?

I really want to become A CHP officer, but due to the high demand and applications in that region, the CHP has put a hold on applicants until who knows when. But as of right now the L.A. Sheriffs Department is Hiring. Am i better off applying for the Sheriffs department then transferring once CHP positions come available, or is that even possible? (EX: will i have to attend the CHP academy from scratch anyways?)|||Go to LA County SO first and go through the process there the CHP has a waiting list a mile long and your odds with them aren't too mathematically great with LA CO your odds are somewhat better . You could still apply with the CHP at a later date but you might still have to go through their Academy the experience that you will gain with LA County SO will give you an edge over other candidates.
